Cookie Policy
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They allow the site to recognise your device on later visits and to remember information about you (like a login session or preferences). "Similar technologies" include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags — we treat all of these as cookies for the purposes of this policy.
2. How we use cookies
We classify the cookies we use into three categories:
2.1 Strictly necessary (always on)
These cookies are essential for the Service to function. You cannot disable them through our cookie banner because the Service won't work without them.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
__session | Clerk | Authentication session token | Session |
__client_uat | Clerk | Last user-authentication time | 1 year |
bimerge_workspace | Bimerge AI | Currently selected workspace | 30 days |
bimerge_csrf | Bimerge AI | Cross-site request forgery protection | Session |
2.2 Functional (opt-out available)
These remember your preferences so the Service feels personalised — sidebar collapsed state, theme, language, and recently used filters.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
bimerge_sidebar | Bimerge AI | Sidebar collapsed state | 1 year |
bimerge_theme | Bimerge AI | Light / dark / system preference | 1 year |
bimerge_locale | Bimerge AI | Language preference | 1 year |
2.3 Analytics (opt-out available)
These help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. We use privacy-respecting analytics that don't track individuals across other websites.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
ph_* | PostHog (EU instance) | Product usage analytics, IP-anonymised | 1 year |
_sentry | Sentry | Error and performance monitoring | 30 days |
We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Bimerge AI does not host third-party ads, does not share data with ad networks, and does not load tracking pixels from data brokers.
3. How to manage cookies
You have several ways to control cookies:
- Cookie banner. When you first visit our site, you can accept all cookies or accept only strictly-necessary cookies. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in our footer.
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you block, delete, or get a warning before cookies are set. See the help pages for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
- Do Not Track. When your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, we treat it as an opt-out from analytics cookies.
Disabling strictly-necessary cookies will cause the Service to malfunction (you won't be able to sign in, for example). Disabling functional or analytics cookies has no effect on the core functionality of the Service.
4. Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add new cookies or change how we use existing ones. Any update will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will trigger a re-prompt of the cookie banner.
